Princeton, NJ, Feb. 29, 2022 – Transcend Software, the leading software platform for the conceptual design of built infrastructure including water and wastewater treatment plants, announced that Kim Baker has joined its Board of Directors as an Independent Director. Kim will provide insight to help Transcend continue its mission of enabling EPC’s, OEM’s, and utilities assess innovative, sustainable design options for communities around the world.

In 2021, Transcend expanded its customer base to include many of the leading EPCs, Utilities, and Technology OEMs in the world. Suez, Black and Veatch, United Utilities, and Trinity River Authority are just a few of the biggest names in water using Transcend software to streamline engineering work and build a more sustainable future. Key product and service innovations included the ability to incorporate existing assets and structures into the design of wastewater treatment facilities (brownfield site assessments) and for Technology OEMs and equipment manufacturers to instantly generate budgetary level proposals for a variety of treatment technologies.

Baker, Elemental Exelerator’s Director of Innovation, is a veteran in the water industry with over 15 years of experience in both funding and providing engineering services to global climate and infrastructure projects. As Senior Director of Innovation at Elemental Excelerator, she leads diligence for water and circular economy solutions and manages 25+ portfolio companies that sit across the same two verticals. Prior to Elemental, she was on leadership teams at early-stage and growth-stage companies in the water and wastewater sectors. She holds an engineering degree and an MBA in sustainable management.

“Transcend stands out from other early-stage solutions for its ability to create new workflow systems that underpin entire industries. In addition to streamlining the preliminary engineering design process, Transcend opens the floodgates for engineers to integrate transformational hardware solutions to accelerate the industry into the digital era, says Baker. I look forward to working with the Transcend team as they impact a vast group of stakeholders from entry-level design engineers to utility leaders and frontline communities around the world.”

“As we prepare for our next phase of growth, we have thoughtfully expanded our leadership team, investors, and Board of Directors to provide insight and relationships that can help further our mission to transform the way engineering firms, utilities, and technology suppliers assess and design critical infrastructure,” said Ari Raivetz, CEO of Transcend. “With the addition of Kim, we are well-positioned to continue solving the complex and costly treatment challenges faced by water systems while empowering design engineers and technology suppliers to include the most sustainable, effective treatment alternatives in their assessments instead of decades-old, legacy infrastructure.”

About Transcend Software

Transcend is a company built by infrastructure engineers and computer programmers, transforming the way critical water infrastructure is assessed and designed. Their cloud-based SaaS platform, the Transcend Design Generator (TDG), alleviates bottlenecks in conceptual design processes by automating the preliminary design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, among other critical infrastructure projects. By streamlining the engineering and decision-making that goes into selecting, sizing, and designing equipment; project alternatives can be considered in the early stages of projects with designs being selected for optimal scenarios like CAPEX, TOTEX, carbon impact, land use, and others.
